2010 American Heart Association CPR Guidelines.
The steps have changed!
2005 AHA Guidelines said ABC’s – Airway Breathing Circulation
The 2010 CPR STEPS just released by The American Heart Association emphasize:
Compressions
Push harder and faster on the center of the victims chest.
AIRWAY
Tilt the victim’s head back and lift the chin to open the airway.
BREATHING
Give mouth-to-mouth rescue breaths.
If you are not a trained medical person you should consider:
Hands Only CPR: The AHA endorsed this form of CPR in 2008. The Heart Association still wants untrained lay rescuers to do Hands Only CPR on adult victims who collapse in front of them.
